UPPERCUT DELUXE POMADE DOOM AND GROOM 120G

We bring you a pomade from the limited series of the well-known Deluxe Pomade through the eyes of Steve Purcell, founder of Uppercut.  Same fixation, same characteristics but with a spectacular 120g coffin-shaped packaging, fresh and light smell and transparent colour with a light violet tone.

DOOM & GROOM came from the mind of Uppercut Deluxe founder Steve Purcell.
A purist at heart, Steve takes his cues from everything that came before him... be it Boogie vans, archive skateboarding videos or Ozzy Osbourne and his bat-biting antics - some of the best ideas for campaigns and capsule collections stem from a nod to all things nostalgic.

Like an itch scratching the back of the brain, packaging an ointment in a coffin-shaped container had seemed unfeasible for years. Discussions, sketches, countless doodles - would it be airtight, could the lid be sealed in such an obtuse shape, would it look good? Yes, the challenge of maintaining the performance of an ointment in such an original box was very difficult. And yet, we went ahead.

How did we come up with the name? Quite simply. It's early spring and the east coast of Australia is waking up from another sleepy Covid confinement. The morning still cool after a night of rain; as Steve lies back in his coach seat watching the surf, while the thunderous sound of Sabbath's 'War Pigs' plays. The ocean had seemed still and flat for weeks. Things felt dreary, dull, same old, same old.

Coffee in hand, he squints through the misty cape and out to the horizon, anticipating a possible sunset with a possible storm. And as if on cue, a pile of solid, head-high waves shake from the outside and break into the bay. Wall after wall of waves, of murky greens partially illuminated by sunlight. Each one pushing steadily but fiercely along - thundering and churning in a deep water channel closer to the rocks.
Churning, deserted and virgin.


At that moment things felt better. The spell had been broken. There was light at the end of the tunnel.
The name DOOM & GROOM was born. In the end, it's all about having fun.
